Dr. Bilal Paracha

General Dentist – Practice Limited to Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry

Dr Bilal Paracha completed his dental degree at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in 2016. He is a general dentist, but his practice is limited to oral surgery, and implant dentistry.

He is a strong believer in lifelong learning & regularly continues his training in advanced dental procedures. He has successfully treated thousands of patients suffering from dental anxieties or phobias, holding a visiting member authorization for Iv Moderate Sedation. He has significant experience in complex oral surgery procedures including but not limited to: complicated extractions, impacted wisdom teeth, bone grafting, and the replacement of missing teeth using dental implants. He often incorporates PRP/PRF into his practice, which allows for better case outcomes and allows for a faster recovery and less pain after surgical procedures. He also has a special interest in the All on X procedure, which allows many patients to walk out with a new set of fixed teeth on anywhere from 4-8 implants per arch (“Teeth in a day”).

Dr. Paracha is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry & the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

Outside of dentistry, he loves to travel the world & learn about different cultures, food & history. He is also an avid sports enthusiast & a die-hard Toronto Raptors, Blue Jays & Maple Leaf’s fan. He is excited to provide dentistry to the local community and look forward to serving the municipality of Markham and York Region!

Dr. Aadil Shamji

General Dentist

Dr. Aadil Shamji was born and raised in Waterloo, Ontario. He attended Western University in London, Ontario where he graduated on the Dean’s list with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. He was then accepted to the Boston University School of Dental Medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2013. After completing his dental degree, Aadil completed an optional 1-year residency program at Western University specializing in hospital based dentistry. Here, he received extensive experience in emergency treatment, caring for the medically compromised and those with special needs, as well as the use of sedation. He holds a certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Waterloo-Wellington Dental Society as well as the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club to keep up to date with the newest techniques and technology.

Aadil married his beautiful wife in 2013 whom he met while attending Western University in 2005. They have two beautiful boys together who keep them very busy! When he is not at the office or at home with his family, you can be sure he is either playing or watching sports! His favourites include tennis, squash, golf and hockey. Playing baseball for the City of Waterloo growing up, he earned 2 Ontario Baseball Association Championships. Aside from sports, he has strong aspirations of travelling abroad to establish more sustainable dental care in underserved communities.

While Aadil enjoys practicing a broad range of procedures, he particularly loves working with children. He discovered this passion for children while rotating at a pediatric dental facility in Fort Myers, Florida during his dental education. Aadil is excited to be working at Smile Studio and looks forward to brightening smiles in Markham!

Dr. Lalani

Endodontist

Dr. Lalani completed her DMD ’09 and graduate program in Endodontics ’11, from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Her undergraduate qualifications include a degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Business Management. Dr. Lalani is the past president of the Ontario Society of Endodontics. She is an active member of the Ontario Dental Association and Ontario Society of Endodontics and is an instructor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Lalani practices endodontics in Toronto, and enjoys treating many pediatric patients. She is also an educator in her field. As a mother of 3, Dr. Lalani enjoys yoga, playing hockey, and traveling with her family. She is passionate about health, fitness, and nutrition.

Dr. Leonard Schwartz

Periodontist

Dr. Schwartz is a specialist in Periodontics, certified by the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario. A graduate of McGill University (B.Sc., D.D.S.), Dr. Schwartz was awarded a certificate in periodontics from the University of Connecticut.

As a member in good standing of the Canadian and American Academies of Periodontology, the Ontario Dental Association, the Ontario Society of Periodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the Toronto Crown and Bridge Study Club and Alpha Omega Dental Society, Dr. Schwartz is committed to continuing dental education, attending local and international conferences regularly.

Dr. Schwartz has been involved in teaching at the University of Toronto and is presently a member of the surgical staff at the Markham-Stouffville Hospital. Married, with three children, Dr. Schwartz is an active tennis enthusiast and enjoys classical music and jazz.

Dr Fabien Charbonneau

Anaesthesiologist

Dr. Fabien Charbonneau was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley area where he eventually attended the University of Ottawa Medical School, graduating in 1987. He then completed an internship in Toronto and in New Zealand. This was followed by some more training to become an anaesthesiologist at the University of Toronto.

His path then took him to the Milton District Hospital in 1990, where he started working as an anaesthesiologist. Dr. Charbonneau then started doing anaesthesia outside the hospital in dental offices and cosmetic centres. When he’s not working, he enjoys traveling all over the world, golfing, skiing, and spending time with his friends and family.

Lisa Petrinec

Registered Dental Hygienist

With over three decades of experience, Lisa is a passionate dental hygienist who brings a wealth of knowledge and a gentle touch to every patient interaction. After completing her dental assisting certification at Seneca College in 1982, Lisa pursued her dental hygiene license at George Brown College in 1985, driven by her dedication to oral health care.

Lisa takes pride in her unique ability to build trust with patients, ensuring each visit is both thorough and comfortable. Her “feather-light touch” technique leaves patients with not just cleaner teeth, but also with memorable, positive experiences.

Outside of dentistry, Lisa leads a rich and balanced life. She enjoys staying active at the gym, indulging in good books, and experimenting in the kitchen. What truly sets Lisa apart is her long-standing commitment to music. Since 1992, she has been a violinist with the York Symphony Orchestra, showcasing her artistic side and dedication to her community.

Lisa’s combination of professional expertise and personal interests makes her a well-rounded team member who can connect with patients on multiple levels. Her warm personality and genuine care for others shine through in both her work and personal pursuits.

Isaac

Denturist

Isaac Pak graduated from George Brown College in 2011 where he maintained academic excellency. He continued his education and received his Registered Dental Technician certificate in 2015 and later completed his license of Denturism from Oxford College in 2022. 

Later in 2022, Isaac became a member of the College of Denturists where he was recognized for his professional skills and commitment within the dental community. As a passionate Denturist, he dedicated his career to creating smiles and advancing the field of dental prosthetics. His commitment was marked by numerous milestones, each contributing to his growth as a practitioner and educator in the dental community.

 Isaac continues to shape the understanding of implantology and its transformative impact on dental prosthetics. He takes a keen interest in designing and fabricating full arch fixed prosthesis, aiming to preserve the original characteristics of each patient. He not only emphasizes and advocates for his patients, but also for continuing education in all aspects of dentures and implants with the hopes of transitioning into a leadership role as an educator in the future of his career path.

Outside the office, Isaac enjoys going on vacation to beaches and being close by the ocean. He also collects sneakers in his spare time so make sure to check out his shoes when you see him in clinic.

Mak

RDT Registered Dental Technician

Mak Tunovic is a registered dental technician based in Thornhill, specializing in implant, digital, and cosmetic dentistry. Educated at George Brown College, he is known for his meticulous craftsmanship, balancing functionality and aesthetics in his dental restorations. Committed to ongoing learning, Mak stays at the forefront of his field to provide the highest standard of care. When Mak is not crafting smiles, you’ll likely find him out on the trails with his mountain bike or carving down the slopes on his skis. His best days are spent with his wife and westie.

Sierra

Level II Dental Assistant

Sierra is a Durham College alumnus and has been a dental assistant for a decade. She loves what she does and dentistry has always been a passion of hers ever since she was young. She loved putting smiles on others faces. Her favourite part about her job is making a difference in others lives. She looks forward to continuing putting smiles on my patients faces and meeting new people everyday. While she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks, decorating and gardening.

Donya

Level II Dental Assistant

With two years of experience as a dental assistant, Donya has gained invaluable insights into patient care and the intricacies of dental procedures, fueling her passion to become a dentist. Outside the clinic, Donya loves to spend time with her dog, exploring new trails, and traveling to vibrant destinations, which always inspires her perspective on health and wellness. She also enjoys swimming, finding it a refreshing escape that balances her busy schedule and keeps her energized for her studies. This combination of professional experience and personal pursuits drives her commitment to providing compassionate, comprehensive care in dentistry.

Administrative Lead

With 14 years of experience as a dental receptionist, Ana has gained exceptional skills in patient care, communication, and administrative efficiency. Her extensive background in the dental field has equipped her with a deep understanding of patient needs and the importance of creating a welcoming environment. Beyond her professional expertise, Ana has a vibrant passion for makeup, which she pursues as a hobby. This creative outlet not only fuels her artistic side but also enhances her ability to connect with patients on a personal level, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued. Combining her dental knowledge with her love for beauty, Ana brings a unique perspective to her role, fostering a positive atmosphere in the practice.

Meet Leah, our dedicated treatment coordinator with a decade of experience in the field. When she’s not coordinating treatments, Leah stays incredibly active with her twin toddlers, who keep her on her toes and bring endless joy to her life. Balancing work and family, Leah’s energy and enthusiasm are truly inspiring!

Meet Persia, a friendly dental receptionist with four years of experience who truly loves her job and caring for patients. She always makes sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable at the clinic. When she’s not at work, Persia enjoys reading self-improvement books and playing tennis. She’s also enrolled in nursing school, hoping to expand her skills and help even more people in the future.
